Biography
Born in Lebanon in 1970, David Daoud lives and works between Beirut and Paris. David began drawing and painting at a very young age. Based in Paris, he continued his studies at the Ecole Superieure Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. He perfected his technique with his mentor, the famous sculptor Charles Auffret, himself a student of the workshop of the disciples of Auguste Rodin. A hard worker, David Daoud draws his inspiration from nature. In the symbolist vein, flirting with impressionism, the painter expresses himself mainly in large format. His favorite themes are exile, travel, distance, nostalgia, absence and eternity. The artist has exhibited in numerous galleries, museums and cultural sites in France and Lebanon.
In 2018, Ibrahim Maalouf chose one of his works for the cover of his album “Levantine Symphony”.

2018: Elected among the 100 best contemporary artists by Miroir de l’Art magazine.
2013: Lefranc Bourgeois Prize in painting at the Palais des Congrès, Montreuil France.
2013: Bronze medal from the town of Conflans France.
2011: 1st Fréderic de Carfort prize from the Fondation de France.
2006: Bronze medal from the General Council of Yvelines France.
2004: Selected among the 10 best in the international competition for the “Paul Louis WEILLER” portrait prize by the Academy of Arts of the Institut de France.
1999: 1st drawing prize from Regards magazine.
